Which CBD Oil Should I Choose For Myself?
Often it can feel overwhelming when something good comes into your life and you just feel all excited inside and don’t know where to start! CBD oils are one of those things.
Our team at Advance Biotech are extremely proud to be able to offer such a wide range of organic choice for all our customers, so we wanted to write this article to make it easier for you to decide which CBD Oil to add to your online basket.
How Will You Take Yours?
Firstly, you will need to decide whether you are going to be ingesting the oil in your daily dietary intake (a few drops under the tongue) or inhaling it via a vaporiser. There are benefits of each and we’ve already compiled an article on The Beginners Guide To CBD E-Vape oils just in case you decide to go down that route.
There are currently two CBD E-Vape Oils to choose from if you prefer to vape your oil and they are available in Menthol and Blueberry.
But how to choose the right CBD oil? With these two vape oils, it’s down to personal preference. Would you rather choose mentholating odours such as the Vicks Vaporub many of us grew up with, with it’s minty refreshing, awakening smell, or are your senses invigorated by the sweet notes of blueberries that heighten your mood?
Read on if you want to find out more about the CBD oils that are ingested and not inhaled.
Coconut Oil or Olive Oil?
You will see the wide range of CBD oils for ingesting on our online store range from Olive oils to Coconut oils (MCT). Again depending on your personal taste preference and whether you like a slightly nutty or sweet taste, you can easily narrow down your choice for which base oil to go for. These two oils come in 20ml instead of the standard 10ml bottles you will find online.
Which Strength?
Next you will find two types of standard CBD oils, Spagyric and Alchemic; each come in a range of concentrations from 200mg (2%) and 500mg (5%), to 800mg (8%). Depending on the strength of oil you require, you should base your purchase on this.
You may notice that the CBD oils each have a percentage and mg next to their name. This can seem a little confusing at first, but read on to find out more.
The percentage is useful to work out the strength, although mg may be more practical for some people. A 10ml bottle with 5% CBD means that 95% of the bottle is made up of the carrier oil (in most cases, coconut) and other cannabinoids (not THC) or phytochemical from Hemp. So the percentage indicates how much CBD is present as a percentage of the entire bottle.
5% of 10ml gives us 0.5ml of CBD, which when converted into mg, gives you 500mg per bottle. Pretty easy when you know and we think it’s useful to have this knowledge when making your purchase.
The interesting stats don’t end there either.
Did you know that in a 10ml bottle, you’re looking at approximately 200 drops!
So, how much concentration of CBD do you get per drop?
Well, for 500mg or 5% CBD oils, you get about 2.5mg per drop you ingest 🙂
It usually makes sense to start small and work your way up. There is no exact dosage for CBD, so we suggest 3 drops under the tongue twice a day as a starting point and then adjust accordingly.
Increasing your dosage in increments, means you eventually work out what your ‘therapeutic window’ is if you like.
There are some important things to consider when you do increase the number of drops:
How do you respond to different doses?
What time of the day will you take your first and second dose?
Will you take your CBD oil with food?
Experimenting with what works best for you helps you understand how your pain symptoms or other symptoms feel. Perhaps at the start of the month, your pain was at 8 out of 10 and throughout the month, you’re seeing it decrease to eventually 5 out of 10.
These are promising results.
If you’re having a stressful day, then you may feel a higher dose works best for you.
Keeping a diary of your doses can help you understand your dosage patterns best in relation to the alleviation of your symptoms.
